Kahoʻolawe Island Reserve Commission Biosecurity Program

The purpose of this program is to take a proactive approach to invasive species management on Kahoʻolawe by preventing new introductions and eradicating target species through the creation and implementation of a comprehensive biosecurity plan. The program focuses on ports of entry and departure, identifies possible vectors, and establishes biosecurity protocols. All people who access the island reserve are introduced to these procedures during the required orientation. Additional affected ports include Maʻalaea and Lahaina.
